Material

Flexible material with PORON® on top

Shapecrunch uses flexible 3D printed material for making your customised insoles. Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is any of a class of polyurethane plastics with many properties, including elasticity, transparency, and resistance to oil, grease and abrasion. The upper layer is made from PORON®, a breathable, shock-absorbing material which cushions the foot and has anti-microbial properties to keep feet feeling fresh and healthy. The second layer is a revolutionary 3D printed compound plastic (PLA) and rubber material which provides optimum arch support and helps correct your foot’s biomechanics, giving you relief from joint and heel pain caused by flat feet or plantar fasciitis.

All you need to know about Achilles tendon injury

Whether it’s a new activity you pick up or you follow the same routine, it is important to remember to take good care of your feet and legs as they might be susceptible to injury at any point. Certain exercises require repetitive motions which may cause Achilles tendon injury and possibly even an Achilles tendon rupture.

Achilles tendon is the region in the back of the leg just below the ankle where several tendons of the leg meet. A large tendon inserts onto the heel, and this particular region hardly receives any blood flow. The inflammation of this tendon results in Achilles Tendinitis, which makes us unable to walk, especially when we get out of bed in the morning. Sometimes, the pain may burn and also shoot up to other parts of the foot. This also causes Achilles tendon rupture.

Why Does It Happen

Achilles tendon injury is mainly caused due to activities that stress the foot such as dancing, jumping without proper footwear, over-pronation of the foot, running without adequate shoes beyond one’s capacity, running on unstable ground. It also happens due to shoes with improper arch support.

How Can You Prevent It

In order to avoid Achilles tendon injury, make sure you warm up and stretch before you start your day. It will help to increase the blood circulation in your foot and the entire body. Stretching will prevent you from injuries to your muscles. It is always advised to warm up before you start doing your exercises because working out with cold muscles will increase the risk of sprain. While you stretch, try to do a couple of simple yoga poses whichever you find easy. This will keep you away from not just foot injury but other injuries as well. It is recommended to avoid shoes that do not have arch support and shoes that do not elevate the heel at least slightly.
